No doubt about it this year. We had to wait an extra day but March comes in like a lamb this time around. When you think about it, this entire winter has been a lamb.
I don't know about you, but I still have the nagging feeling that somehow in the next 60 days we're still going to get nailed with a major blizzard.
PhilCast show notes:
*Comedian Jeff Cesario joins me after the 4:00 news today. His plane was late yesterday so we had to postpone. I'd like to share some inside info with you here on this....Seems like Jeff is one of the good guys. Just so you know, he was apologizing for missing the interview on Wednesday and wanted to make sure we got it done today.
Jeff is playing Oshkosh tomorrow night and we have one more pair of tickets to give away on the show today.
*Lips LaBelle will follow that interview with, among all his other usual stuff, a story about the time he met Davy Jones.
*I'll be covering Wisconsin's version of the Westminster Dog Show this weekend at State Fair Park.
And at some point today I'll be giving away two sets of tickets to that show. Listen Monday for a feature story about the Wisconsin Kennel Club show.
I'm not sure why I'm putting all this work into editing up a special Leap Day open for the PhilCast today since I'll only be able to use it every four years!
Anyway...
You'll hear it opening the show today after the 3:00 news. It includes a clip from what seems to be the only recent movie that involves Leap Day...
...and one of the guys from the TV show Parks and Rec is in that movie.
A benefit to consider today?
Our Woodward Radio "Big Deals" offers are even bigger today because if you use the code word LEAP today only you get more $$ off already great deals!
Check it out here.
Wow, when it rains topics it pours!
I am not sure how much we will be able to fit in today, but man is there ever a laundry list of things on the docket for the Tuesday PhilCast. Please do give us a listen...over the air live, on the internet live or in podcast form on-demand.

Also Monday, a piece from our adventures at the Greater Milwaukee Auto Show. What I did was put together a feature that runs about 10:00 for the show today. But if you go to the podcast section of our site you'll see a link to all the interviews Kris Kraft and I did on Saturday, exclusive content on the web that won't be on the air.
And the rain-delayed Daytona 500 now won't even start until 6:00 our time tonight. So we'll see if we have a winner of our contest on the Tuesday show.
Talk to you later...
Kris Kraft and I spent a great Saturday afternoon checking out all the beautiful new and classic cars (and at least one friendly model from L.A.) at the Greater Milwaukee Auto Show.
CLICK HERE to see a photo slide show of the pictures we took at the event.
Coming Monday, we'll post a special PhilCast podcast in which you can hear all the interviews I did at the show.
You'll find the link for the audio at thephilcast.com
The Greater Milwaukee Auto Show kicks off this weekend and I'll be there on opening day with Kris Kraft, a recorder and a camera in tow. We'll do some interviews, take a bunch of photos and gather some info on what we see as the hottest/coolest (never quite sure which way to go with that) stuff at the biggest auto show in the state.
Listen for a segment about the show on the Monday PhilCast.
Have a great weekend!
Later.
If you like the Beatles make sure to be listening to the PhilCast Thursday afternoon at about 4:30-ish.
We'll be having sort of a radio reunion at that time when not only will Lips LaBelle join me as usual, but so will Milwaukee radio legend Bob Barry. This will be fun.
Bob, a former co-worker of mine, will be introducing what looks to be a fantastic Beatles tribute show at the Milwaukee Theater next week, a concert by the group RAIN-A Tribute to the Beatles.
Fitting since it was Bob Barry that introduced the actual Beatles on stage in Milwaukee back in the early 60's, earning him the nickname "The Fifth Beatle" around these parts. My wife was one of the screaming girls at that concert.
By the way this is a picture of RAIN, not the actual Beatles.
These guys have got it down to the last hair on their Beatle cuts...and have been together doing this longer than the actual Beatles were together.
Bob will be talking not only about the show but also about what it was like working with the Beatles and being in the middle of that whirlwind at the time when one of the greatest bands ever swooped into Milwaukee.
I still have what I tell people is my autographed picture of the Beatles. It's an 8X10 promotional shot of Bob Barry standing with the Beatles....and BOB autographed it for me. Like I said...I DO have an autographed photo of the Beatles.
And yes, Bob Barry is on the long list of people I have worked with on the radio.
The year was 1986. I had just come back 'home' to Wisconsin from a brief three-year stint in Oklahoma City where my first radio job took me right out of college.
Bob was spinning the hits during afternoon-drive on WISN Radio and I was doing the newscasts top and bottom of the hour with him.
Great guy. Great memories. Should be fun chatting today.
